R14 - Motorland Aragon Circuit, Aragan
Motorland Aragon Circuit overview
The MotorLand Aragón project (Ciudad del Motor de Aragón) has come about as a result of the motorsports prestige the area gained during the era of the legendary Alcañiz street circuit and the enthusiasm it sparked off in the general public. The desire to continue this long-standing tradition gave rise to the idea of building a new motorsports city – hence the Spanish name that literally translates into Motor City of Aragón – inspired by the central theme of motors. Today this project has taken shape in the form of MotorLand Aragón – a multi-purpose motorsports complex based on the pillars of technology, sports and leisure & culture.
MotorLand Aragón has collaborated with a team of internationally renowned and highly-experienced experts in the field to transform this concept into a reality. The project has the important goals driving forward the entire region through building on the area’s longstanding love affair with motorsports and using its prime location to attract the big motorsports teams and automotive companies as well as the general public.
The MotorLand Aragón complex is set on a 350-hectare plot of land just 5 kilometres from Alcañiz. As the cities of Madrid, Bilbao, Barcelona, Valencia, Pau and Toulouse all lie within a radius of 300 km, the complex is in the heart of an area containing 25 million inhabitants.
